Prime Minister Narendra Modi chairs 6th meeting of NDMA

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi chaired the sixth meeting of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) at New Delhi.  (October 18, 2018)

Prime Minister Modi reviewed the activities of NDMA to effectively manage and respond to disasters affecting the country. He also reviewed ongoing projects undertaken by NDMA.

Prime Minister Modi emphasized on the need for better coordination between the various stakeholders and undertake more joint exercises to bring about effective response to save life and property. DHARMA GUARDIAN 2018 - First ever India Japan joint military exercise to be held in Mizoram

The first joint military exercise named “Dharma Guardian” between India and Japan will be held at the Army’s Counter-Insurgency Warfare School at Vairengte (Mizoram) from November 1 to 14, 2018.


Main objective behind this exercise is to promote Military cooperation between both the countries.The Indian contingent will be represented by 6/1 GORKHA RIFLES while the Japanese contingent will be represented by 32 Infantry Regiment of the Japanese Ground Self Defence Force.

During the 14 day long exercise, due emphasis will be laid on increasing interoperability between forces from both countries. Both sides will jointly train, plan and execute a series of well developed tactical drills for neutralisation of likely threats that may be encountered in urban warfare scenario. Experts from both sides will also hold detailed discussions to share their expertise on varied operational aspects.......Read More
