Ramon Laguarta succeeds Pepsico’s Indian-origin CEO Indra Nooyi
Ramon Laguarta assumed the role of chief executive officer (CEO) of global beverage giant PepsiCo.
Ramon Laguarta succeeds India-born Indra Nooyi, who was the CEO of PepsiCo for 12 years. Indra Nooyi will be chairman of PepsiCo till early 2019.
PepsiCo’s Board of Directors had in August announced that they unanimously elected Laguarta, 54, to succeed Nooyi, 62, as CEO. Laguarta was also elected to the company’s Board of Directors, effective October 3.
Laguarta will become the sixth CEO in PepsiCo’s 53-year history.
