Successful night trial of Prithvi-II missile from Odisha

India’s Strategic Forces Command successfully test-fired Prithvi-II missile from a mobile launcher from launch complex-3 of the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur near Balasore in Odisha.

The surface-to-surface missile, which has a strike range of 350 km.
 
The missile is capable of carrying 500 to 1,000 kilogramme of warheads and is thrusted by liquid propulsion twin engines.
 
The missile trajectory was tracked by radars, electro-optical tracking systems and telemetry stations by the DRDO along the coast of Odisha........Read More


India defeats Sri Lanka by 144 runs to lift U-19 Asia Cup title

India won the Under-19 Asia Cup, at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

India defeated Sri Lanka by 144 runs in the final and won the U-19 Asia Cup final match. This is India’s sixth title in seven editions of the U-19 continental tournament.

Nirman Kusuma programme launched by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the ‘Nirman Kusuma’ programme in state to help the children of construction workers get trained in Industrial Training Institutes and polytechnics.

Under the scheme, an Students from the ITI will get assistance of Rs. 23,600 per annum and diploma students would get Rs. 26,300 per annum.
 
A total of 1,878 students will get benefit from the programme.
