India launches ‘Operation Samudra Maitri’ to help tsunami-hit Indonesia
India launched 'Operation Samudra Maitri' to assist the survivors of earthquake and consequent tsunami in Central Sulawesi province of Indonesia.
The C-130J aircraft is carrying a medical team on board along with tents and equipment to set up a field hospital.
The humanitarian assistance operation consisted of the two IAF Aircrafts, C-130J and C-17 along with medical personnel and relief material.
Also 3 Indian naval ships INS Tir, INS Sujatha and INS Shardul have also been mobilised for humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR).
