Election Commission announces assembly election dates for 5 states, results on December 11

The Election Commission of India announced single phase assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana and Mizoram and two-phase polls for Chhattisgarh.

The legislative assembly elections of 5 state will be held between November 12 and December 7, counting of votes for all the five states will take place on December 11, the Election Commission announced.

The first phase of elections for 18 Assembly seats in south Chhattisgarh will be held on November 12 while the second phase for the remaining 72 seats will be held on November 20.

Madhya Pradesh has 230 seats, and Mizoram has 40 Assembly seats will vote on November 28, Rajasthan has 200 Assembly seats and Telangana has 119 Assembly seats will go to polls on December 7.

Atal Innovation Mission and SIRIUS sign MoU for promotion of innovative cooperation between students of India and Russia

To promote innovative cooperation between students of India and Russia, a Memorandum of Understanding was exchanged between India’s Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) and the Russian Federation’s SIRIUS Educational Foundation in the presence of the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and the President of Russia H.E. Vladimir Putin, in New Delhi on 5th October 2018.

The AIM and SIRUS Education Foundation were represented by Mission Director R Ramanan and Ms. Elena Shmeleva respectively.

IndiaSkills 2018 Country’s biggest Skill Competition, Concludes

The country's biggest skill competition, IndiaSkills 2018 has concluded in New Delhi.

The 164 winners were awarded by Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Anant Kumar Hegde.

IndiaSkills 2018 was the second edition of the nationwide competition organized by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India to identify, recognize, promote and reward the best talents in various skills.

23 states actively participated in organizing the competitions at the state and regional levels in which over 50 thousand participants took part.

RBI approved formation of Kerala Bank having Rs 650 bn in deposits

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) approved the venture proposal of Kerala government for the formation of Kerala Bank.

Kerala has consolidated the State Cooperative Bank and the 14 district cooperative banks in the state. It will have a net deposit amount of Rs 650 billion.

Bank was provide modern facilities to the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS).

The President of India Ram Nath Kovind, inaugurated the 4th India International Science Festival in Lucknow, (October 6, 2018).

The President said that the role of science and scientific innovation in our national developmental agenda is expanding day by day. In 2017, patent applications by Indian start-ups rose to 909.

This was a 15-fold increase from the number in 2016 – just 61. In 2018, India’s R&D investments will amount to an appreciable US$ 83.27 billion. The government has announced the Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship Scheme.
