Forbes India Rich List 2018: Mukesh Ambani is the richest Indian for 11th consecutive year

According to the Forbes’s annual list of India’s 100 richest; Mukesh Ambani has been named the richest Indian for the 11th consecutive year with a net worth of $47.3 billion.

Reliance Industries’ Chairman Mukesh Ambani is also the year’s biggest gainer, adding $9.3 billion to his wealth amid the continuing success of his Reliance Jio broadband telecom service.

As per the ‘Forbes India Rich List 2018’, Wipro Chairman Azim Premji has retained the second spot, adding $2 billion to his wealth at $21 billion; while ArcelorMittal Chairman and CEO Lakshmi Mittal moved a place ahead to the third slot with a net worth of $18.3 billion, increasing his wealth by $1.8 billion.

Chanda Kochhar resigns as ICICI CEO, Sandeep Bakhshi to take over

ICICI Bank MD and CEO (Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer) Chanda Kochhar resigned from the post.

Sandeep Bakhshi has been appointed as the new MD and CEO of ICICI Bank for a period of 5 years till October 3, 2023.

Kochhar is currently on leave after ICICI Bank decided to probe allegations of conflict of interest and quid pro quo against her while dealing with certain customers/borrowers of the bank including the Videocon Group.

India ranked 28th among 73 countries in govt e-payment adoption: Survey

The 2018 Government E-Payments Adoption Ranking (GEAR), compiled by The Economist Intelligence Unit commissioned by payments company Visa India as 28th ranked in out of 73 country list.

The country is taking "rapid strides" in advancing government e-payments capabilities and is one of the top- performing countries in terms of citizen-to-government (C2G), business-to-government (B2G) and government-to-business (G2B) transactions.

Norway leads the top spot in the 73-country ranking, followed by France and Denmark. India moved up to 28th in 2018, from 36th in 2011.

The India holds the top ranking on B2G and G2B, and comes third on C2G jointly with Argentina. On political context on protecting intellectual property rights, India ranks 40th.....Read More

Ramon Laguarta succeeds Pepsico’s Indian-origin CEO Indra Nooyi

Ramon Laguarta assumed the role of chief executive officer (CEO) of global beverage giant PepsiCo.


Ramon Laguarta succeeds India-born Indra Nooyi, who was the CEO of PepsiCo for 12 years. Indra Nooyi will be chairman of PepsiCo till early 2019.

PepsiCo’s Board of Directors had in August announced that they unanimously elected Laguarta, 54, to succeed Nooyi, 62, as CEO. Laguarta was also elected to the company’s Board of Directors, effective October 3.......Read More
